Projections happen when you unknowingly thrust your stuff upon others and assume it was theirs all along. Projections aren't all bad - we wouldn't fall in love if we didn't project perfection onto our mates - but they are best when they are recognized, withdrawn and integrated. When we realize that the world, the people (even the politicians!) we have projected onto are not what we believe, we can learn from our projections and become more conscious of our own stuff, helping us to work towards wholeness.
